State return rejected

My AR state return was rejected while my federal return was accepted.

I have the error message and can see what might be the error on form AR3 BUT I cannot edit that form to remove the zero and hopefully fix the error

I looked around and cannot find where I can edit the form so to remove the zero.

Try deleting the form and redoing it if you can't edit it.  Here's a link on how to delete forms in TurboTax:

Thanks for your help but it didn't help.

I looked at the form again and found that I can edit the individual lines on line 15 which are blank  BUT there is a zero 0 on the total space of line 15 that I can't delete which is causing the problem.

I found on my own where I could delete form AR3 but I'm nervous to do it since that form contains my itemized deductions. So as you said I can delete the form and re-create it. But I am hesitant to do that because I don't want to mess things up.

You can delete it.   After you delete it, go through the AR state return again to repopulate the form.    Your itemized deductions are part of your federal return that has already been accepted, so you are not going to mess anything up by deleting the AR3.

I deleted the form and then stepped through the state return again.

I re-filed it again and again it was rejected from Arkansas.

I looked at the state form AR3 line 15 and again for Other Contributions the individual boxes are all empty but the $0 is again in the total box for that line. It seems that Arkansas does not like this.

I am a retired programmer, and this looks like a programming bug to me.

I've been waiting patiently since yesterday for an answer or help with my problem.

I think there's a bug in Turbo Tax Deluxe that is causing this. 

In line 15 (Other Contributions) of Arkansas form AR3 there are two sections: a section for specific types and amounts and a section for the total of all those types. 

The section for specific types and amounts is blank.

The section for the total contains a zero. 

The Arkansas e-file program does not like this at all and rejects my return. 

Is there anything that can be done besides mailing the return in.

How do you see that the e-file process does not like blanks for the detail but zero for the total? What is the error message?

If this is happening on the e-file process, what is the Arkansas reject code?

This is the error message I get when I open Turbox Tax after receiving an email that the state return was rejected. I don't see a rejection code from Arkansas. This is the only error message that I have received.

Description of error:
Data in the return is missing or invalid. Please double check your entries.
What needs to be done:
Form AR3in the Arkansas return has a value on "Other Contributions" line. Type and Amount are required for
each entry. Fix any incomplete or incorrect information and remove an $0 entries if applicable.

I also receive this description of the error in the email from Turbo Tax:

ReturnState/ReturnDataState/SchAR3/Contributions/OtherContribution/TotalOtherContributions - Data in the return is missing or invalid. Please double check your entries

To fix this error on Form AR3 in the Arkansas return. You will need to make sure that all the entries have a type and amount. Fix any incomplete or incorrect information and remove any $0 entries if applicable. Please review the reason for the reject. If necessary, make the appropriate change and re-submit this return electronically. 

However, if the reject continues, you may want to file this return via U.S. Mail. To file your state return, print it and mail to the appropriate taxing authority.
