Started as contractor (1099) mid-Dec. Got paid mid-Jan. Company not sending 1099. Is that right?

Worked for 2 weeks as an contractor (1099) middle of December 2015. Did not get paid until middle of January 2016. Just sent an inquiry regarding 1099 statement for work done in December but was told not getting one because I was paid in January 2016. Will that cause any issues with tax filing?

No issues.

If the income was constructively received in 2016 (check, cash, direct deposit or any other form), you don't have to report for 2015, you will report it on your 2016 tax return, whether 1099-Misc is issued or not.
