Why KY tax due now when in 19 yrs never have owed

We have never had to pay any tax to KY in 19 years of filing. Why all of a sudden do your forms for 2018 say I owe $432?

Start by checking for data entry errors, especially commas and decimals.

Changes to KY tax law for 2018.  Some of these are as follows:

Flat tax rate of 5% for all individuals

Pension exclusion decreased to $31,110 from $41,110

$10 personal tax credit for taxpayers and dependents eliminated
