Start a desktop return on a MAC and then complete it on a PC if I purchase a second desktop program for the PC

I want to e file 6 returns for family members.  I know I am limited to 5.  Can I start a desktop return on a MAC computer and then complete (and e file) it on a second PC computer if I purchase a second desktop program for the PC?   Thanks

You can try.  Don’t know if that will work.   You just need to copy or move the data file ending in .tax2025  from the Mac to open it in the Windows program.

You can download both Windows and Mac with your purchase.

Since you now have to log into an Intuit Account to install it all your downloads and licenses are listed there (even if you bought it from somewhere else) so if you need to download to install it again or install on another computer, even on the other operating system (Windows, Mac).  And the download will always be up to date with all the updates.

Thank you.  I think the issue will be that I need to purchase the second license (with a different email account) in order to e file the 6th return (IRS limits to 5 per individual license).  So I will want to eventually move one of them from my regular map to the second computer (which happens to be a PC) and set up / purchase a second  desktop SW (which I don't love but am OK with) to complete and file the last return.  I know I will have to transfer the return-in-process with a USB stick.  So I will try that.

Post back how it goes and if you get the file moved over and if you are able to efile it.
