SOS# General Partnership

For my 1 and only CA General Partnership (GP), I received a letter from Secretary of State (SOS) stating that they have no record of a CA identification number for the partnership. So, they assigned one as Temp 000XXXXXX and said to use this number on all CA partnership income tax returns, payments and documents that I file with them.

Do I just keep using this for the 1 CA GP that I have or will cause issues? I did not use one on my 2019 or 2020 return.  And what do they mean by Use this number on all CA partnerships?

Does it mean any new ones I create in future?

Thanks,

Greg

Use it on all partnership returns going forward.

They mean partnerships you already have.  If you create any new ones they will need new numbers.
