I tried to file a return and am being told one is already filled but I did not do it

How were you being told?   Was it a TurboTax message that popped up when you attempted to efile, or did you efile then later received an efile rejection error notice?

Please report the exact message that was presented to you, and also the rejection error code, if one was provided.  Then hopefully someone familiar with that topic will comment further today.
