SOFTWARE glitch qualified disaster form won't go away

After 90+ minutes on a call with TurboTax support she was stumped and said I should pay for expert support. My taxes are done. I just can't get past a FIX error to file. I need tech support to fix this glitch not a tax expert.

SOFTWARE glitch qualified disaster form won't go away

To stop the glitch and clear the "FIX" error, you must delete the hidden worksheets that are forcing the form to reappear.

Delete the Support Worksheet:

  1. In the left-hand menu, select Tax Tools, then Tools.
  2. In the "Tool Center" pop-up, select Delete a form.
  3. Find "Qualified 2020 Disaster Retirement Distr" (or similar worksheets like "8915-E wks" or "8915-F Worksheet").
  4. Click Delete next to the Worksheet first, then delete Form 8915-F if it’s still there.

THEN

  1. Go to the Federal tab on the left, then Wages & Income.
  2. Scroll to the very bottom and click Wrap Up Income (or "Done with Income").
  3. The software will ask follow-up questions it missed. When you see "Did you take a disaster distribution at any time between 2018 and 2020?", select No.
  4. Log out of TurboTax entirely.
  5. Clear your browser cache and cookies to ensure the software isn't loading a "cached" version of the error.
  6. Log back in and run the Federal Review (Smart Check).
