how to fixed a turbotax messed up return!!!!!!!!!!

So i filled out my taxes using turbo tax for state and mailed them in. they denied the application because I was not a out of state resident.  I work for the military and not LIVED in ohio since we where married last year and state of ohio says I have to pay them state income tax and my home state. (not a tax exempt state either) says the Ohio IT NRC.

how to i fix this?

one taxpayer per account. a second user would overwrite your tax file and thus no longer be available for next year. each taxpayer needs their own account - unique User id/ can be same e-mail

how to fixed a turbotax messed up return!!!!!!!!!!

I get that.  I filled joint let with my wife using the TurbotTax Deluxe PC version.  I filled married and jointly.  Fedural worked well.  I used the free state for Ohio to print and send to the state.  I got a letter saying they denied the Account and we have 20 day to submit an updated Ohio IT NRC record.  The TurboTax software FAILED me.  I did the other state separately since they make it easy. I need to know how to fix TurboTaxs mistake and make the stete work.

Something is missing in the information you are giving us.   No one else can see your tax return nor can we see any of your information.  We have no idea what "other state" you are referring to, or what "other user" you are referring to.    Please explain more thoroughly.

how to fixed a turbotax messed up return!!!!!!!!!!

I live and work in out west.  my Wife lives and works in ohio.  we filed jointly. used turbo tax for her state and federal. then I filled mine in my state but just the state portal and came back approved. The Turbotax filled tax came back as stated above Ohio said missing forms.  I do not work in ohio nor do i have residences in ohio. Ohio said i need to pay ohio taxes since i worked in another state.

It sounds like the OH Department of Taxation considers you an OH resident. In order to be considered a nonresident, the following should happen.

A nonresident is an individual who was domiciled outside of Ohio for the entire year. An individual will be presumed not to be domiciled in Ohio if an accurate statement of Ohio nonresidency, Form IT NRS, is filed by October 15 of the following year, and attests that her or she:

  • Had no more than 212 contact periods with Ohio during the taxable year
  • Had an abode outside of Ohio for the entire taxable year, on which depreciation deduction was not claimed
  • Did not hold an Ohio driver’s license or identification card at any time during the taxable year
  • Did not claim the homestead exemption and/or the owner occupancy property tax reduction for an Ohio property during the taxable year, and
  • Did not claim to be an Ohio resident for the purpose of obtaining “in state” tuition at an Ohio institution of higher education.

What you need to do is write a response to the notice explaining why you were not a resident. Following the points above. Sending form IT NRS may be a good idea too.
