Hi , I’m a single mom of one and I make about 40,000 a year . On my w4 I put single with no allowances and no dependents because I want more money taken out so I can get a bigger tax refund , i just wanna know if this is okay since I’m planning on claiming my son when I file , Thanks

Is there a reason you are giving the government an interest free loan all year, plus having to wait for the refund itself?  Try this:
