1040 book says if he didn't earn 6,000, it doesn't say anything about 1099 or W-2

Single dependents earning less than 6000 on a 1099

Your dependents are required to file a tax return as they earned more than $400 on a form 1099-MISC.

Income reported on form 1099-MISC is self-employment income and is subject to both self-employment tax and income tax.

When filing their respective returns, your dependents need to indicate in thr My Info section of TurboTax that they can be claimed as dependents by someone else.
