Side hustle

I started a small side hustle related to sports, training and equipment repair and my wife does photography outside of our w-2 jobs. If we have start up cost and business expenses beyond our side job income will it reduce the tax liability of our w-2 jobs?

You have self-employment income for which you will pay self-employment tax for Social Security and Medicare.   You will need to use online Premium software or any version of the CD/download so that you can prepare a Schedule C for your business expenses.
