Having a Schedule C reporting Business Income and Expenses as part of your return requires that the TurboTax Online Self-Employed or one of the CD/downloaded versions of TurboTax be used. The forms for this situation are not available in the lower versions of the program.
I used to enjoy using TurboTax. Now I hate it.
The online version doesn't give any opportunity to look around and figure out what's going wrong.
TurboTax does stupid stuff like shortening the names of investment instruments and numbering them.
When that happens there is no way to follow the trail to figure out which investment is the problem, because there is no way to tell which investment you're working on. (you can go back and print out a whole bunch of pages and start comparing numbers to see if you've got the right one, but that's ridiculous)
Is it still possible to download the software? Do they charge lots more money for that too?
I guess at this point it will cost the same to go to H&R Block and they'll do it all for me!
Goodbye TurboTax
Oh, and after this nonsense, I think we're going to reconsider doing Quicken Loans for our new mortgage.
