No. It would not be on your return. The 8615 is to report income of certain children. It may be that you do not need to file a return, instead, it could go on your parent's return on the 8615 - IF they were claiming you.
For children under age 18 and certain older children, unearned income over $2,200 is taxed at the parent's rate if the parent's rate is higher than the child's. If the child's unearned income is more than $2,200, use Form 8615 to figure the child's tax. from Instructions for Form 8615, Tax for Certain Children Who Have Unearned Income
If you should be filing your own return, you can delete the 8615, See How to Delete
Hello,
Last year I had the same issue with form 8615 and I can't delete it. I'm american and my parents are both mexican, but it keeps asking for their social security number. Last year I was helped by one of your experts but I don't remember who helped me or how we were able to fix. I would really appreciate it someone could help me fix this issue.
No, if you are claiming yourself and do not have children, then you should not need Form 8615 in your return.
It may be carrying over from last year. It may be best to delete this manually.
Here are the directions to delete the form from your return. This will delete both the form and the entries. If it rebuilds, sometimes there is another form recreating it, and both have to be deleted to clear that information. In TurboTax Online:
After that is clear, please return to Review, and it should clear without any review items.
