Do you have access to a computer or another device you can open your return on?

You have to leave the window and tab open that asks for your code.  If you close that window or tab it resets everything, and the code will be seen as invalid or "expired."

While keeping the first window/tab open, use a second window or a second tab to check your email. 

Or if you have 2 browsers, you can use the other browser to check your email.  

Or you can leave the window open on your computer and use your phone to check your email.

TurboTax cannot send the code to a cell phone, since this process is for email verification.
