Self-employment tax question

I am full-time with a side home-based business.  Is my wife subject to self-employed tax?  She is not part of home business and only has W-2 income from her employer.

Self-employment tax question

Self-employment tax is simply both the employer and employee's share of social security and medicare taxes.  Roughly 15% of your net self-employment income.

Self-employment tax is part of your regular tax return, so if you're filing jointly, she is impacted, but she is not being assessed separately.
