Calling has proven to be fruitless I just get an automated voice that asks me to spell things endlessly. I have no idea why simply adding positive and negative numbers is beyond the capability of this software. If others are having my issue, the entire state in possession of a brokerage account will be unable to file their taxes.
@Morris Bergen Please give it a day or 2 and try again.
Just called again and still no answers. This is ridiculous. They can’t fix something real simple. Never will i use turbotax again.
I was able to get around the problem by checking every stocks, cryptos, etc. transaction and making sure that selection is made such as purchased, received as a gift, etc. It seems like it is the source of the problem. You should be able to E-file after that.
@gensiv So you went back to your Federal section to make those changes, and it fixed your Sch NJ-DOP ?
Yes, exactly.
I had the same problem and this solution (entering how acquired) worked. The feed from cointracker didn’t include that info apparently and I had to go into each transaction and add it. It was super time consuming because there was a lag pulling each transaction to open, edit and confirm. But, once completed I could file.
I imported everything from my stocks using their import tab, what else do I need to do? Everything looks fine, but still won’t let me file.
Checked for update. Message says program is up to date. When will the fix / update be available? Already paid for e-file.
I was told by Support that I've been attached to an already open investigation regarding this issue, and I should start getting email alerts on any progress with that investigation as they work to resolve it.
They also told me that they are aware that it's an issue on their end.
The form is available but it's not being updated in the Software when we run the update.
That's what they are investigating.
Was told to wait a few days for this resolution.
I found a workaround which nobody is going to like. You will have to delete your capital gains/loss import and individually input all Your transactions. I’m sure this will take many people hours but at least it will properly fix the NJ DOP issue and might even correctly populate your schedule D and schedule 8949.
I'm glad I found this thread and it isn't just me who is having issues... Annoying part about this is that the live help had no idea this was a known issue and just kept sending me in circles while solving nothing... And they already charged me despite not being able to file...
I talked to 3 "specialists" from TT regarding this same issue: NJ DOP line 4, specifically. Each representative gave me a different answer. One said she didn't know when it will be resolved. Another said "try back on Monday" February 21. Still unable to e-file, I spoke to another person who said I should check back on Thursday because that's the day of the week when they perform updates. 'Round and 'round we go. As much as I'd love to re-input 300+ cryptocurrency transactions (most of which are dust), no thanks! I already "fixed" 267 entries that didn't transfer properly from my federal tax. Just let me enter 0 and be done with this, please. Frustrating.
Same issue here. Kinda ridiculous. I have thousands of entries. No way I'm entering them one at a time.
Still an issue for me and I just did the whole Fed and NJ state update thing. I guess I will wait for a new update and I hope they alert me to that via email. Very annoying . Thanks to all that responded here, at least I know others are waiting for an update and its a known problem
