Has anyone ever been under review for Federal Return?

i was told the first time i was sent a letter, then second time i called he said that was not true and i was NOT being sent a letter& my 45 days starts the 15th which is when it was pulled for review! the next day i received a letter in the mail (2/26) & was told the 45 days begins the 26th when the letter was sent!!!

I filed 1/30 aprroved same day. First time I called I was Told I'm under review since 2/14 45 days. No wmr updates no letters etc. I just now got off the phone. I went a diff route I checked about my transcripts. I asked questions about my acct transcripts to see if I could get a clear ddd from that info. The 3/5/2018 date thats on there she said my 45 day review would start that day. So if I don't have my return by 4/19 to call back. I said I spoke to a rep earlier in the month she told me 45 days from 2/14 she said they put more policies in place after I was told that so now my review will begin 3/5. I hope she is a dumb ass and i get a update tonite and get a ddd soon. So

Like I got the same information today...don't know what the truth is...they keep saying EITC and aitc credit is what they are trying to verify...

I got a letter just today and told me I wasn't required to do anything but they were checking my tax return out and if I dont hear anything from the date above which was Feb.26 up to 60 days to call them ..smh this is upsetting this year

I got a letter today that said there was 4 rea sons why my taxes could possible be held and that I should wait the full 60 days from the date on the letter which was Feb 27 before I can inquire about my taxes. In the letter it also said that they may need more info after the 60 days thorough investigation.. this is really crazy so hopefully I will hear something by April 27th this is Bulls hit and so frustrating

I finally got my letter too. Nothing specific that they are looking for as well. I am going to take the advice of another person that posted and try to get someone that can give me insight on an error that I did that started this...possibly. I can't wrap my head around the fact that I was chosen for a random review when so many people in this forum has used Turbotax and is in the same type of situation.

I was told today that if your EITC was over $4000 then they held the returns for 45 days. So end of March should be when we start to see them.

Mine ain’t even close to 4000 it’s under 2000 and mine is being held under review it’s bull crap

Mine is nowhere near 4000 and I still haven't received a letter...my folks used TurboTax and she got her state and her federal last week

I got my letter today.. It said to wait 60 days from the day on the letter which is feb 28th.. gave four reasons why they were doing the review, and that there’s nothing to do but wait. This is so irritating!!!

-claims for tax credits you made on your return
-business income you reported on your return
You aren't required to  do anything  at this time.  If you haven't received your refund or been contacted by us in writing within 60 days from the date of this letter February  28th you can call us listed at the number above
