I am in the interview, at the Personal | Deductions & Credits | Sales Tax Deduction. In all the years I have done this before with TurboTax, it never had me go through trying to estimate how much we paid in sales tax. I don't have the receipts of any big-ticket item for 2025, because we didn't buy any big-ticket item in 2025. Every time I got to a similar place in the interview process, in years past, TurboTax would estimate our sales tax based upon the state we lived in. And so far, we're going to be filing using the Standard Deduction.
So, I'm wondering, have I gone down the wrong path in the Interview process?

It sounds like you are in the right place, but you may have mistakenly picked the wrong choice when you first started that section. Try going back to it again and be sure to select the option to Estimate sales tax deduction using IRS tables. This will take inputs for where you lived and for how long in each state, but you will not need to enter any amounts that you spent.

This is the best answer, but I've got a follow-up question, which I'll ask as a new question.
