RMD Calculation

Currently working on my 2024 tax return and I have 2 Fidelity accounts that require a RMD. In addition, I have an annuity through Mass Mutual that pays out a fixed monthly payment. The last screen in the 1099-R section says "lets check to see if I have met the required minimum distribution " and that screen shows the total RMD for the 2 Fidelity as well as the total distribution from the annuity account which does not require an RMD.

 

It would appear to be an issue with the 2024 Turbo tax software

Any thoughts?

RMD Calculation

If you receive periodic (monthly) payments from a Pension or Annuity, these are considered Required Minimum Distributions (RMD's).  When TurboTax asks for the RMD due by Dec 31, 2024, you should put the full amount of the distribution from Box 1 of your Form 1099-R.
