None of this worked. I ended up going back, deleting the tax audit protection, then proceeding again but with the pay by my master card option. I was particularly annoyed that there was no way to communicate with a human during this process. Each time I communicated with the 'assistant' I was given nonsense answers. I'm sure that this is a bean counter's dream, but for us old guys it is just more proof that the company doesn't care about their customers anymore.

Can you try the steps provided below to see if that resolves your issue:

 

  • Log completely out of your TurboTax account
  • Clear cache and delete cookies
  • Then log back in and see if you are still having the same issue

You may also want to try another web browser to see if that resolves the issue.

This was the first placed I looked. Had the same issue.

I wish I had more help to provide, but I was never able to contact a human to tell them about the problem with their software. Even after using Macintax / Turbo tax for more than 20 years, I am considering using something else next year. At the very least they could have a list where you would get called back when all their helpers are  not locked up busy.

Please try the following steps which may help clear the loop you are experiencing:

  • Log completely out of Turbo Tax.
  • Then, clear your cache and cookies within your browser and completely close out of it.  I have included the Help Articles below if you need assistance with clearing cache or cookies.
  • Re-open the browser and log back into Turbo Tax and see if this fixes the situation.
    • You can also try a different browser as well, or "incognito mode".

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, please reach back out here in the thread and someone will follow up with the next steps.
