Return rejected because I sent a prior return through another site

Hi,

My federal and state returns were rejected with the error code

Reject Code R0000-932-02

This is because I had originally sent in my federal return through Free 1040 Tax Return. Tax laws had changed so I sent it again with the state return from TurboTax, using the Deluxe program. I was advised I needed to change the form of payment for the federal form and mail it.

I can't find the way to change the form of payment and want to know if I have to mail both returns now, or just the federal that I sent in twice?

You can only file one return and you do not want to mail your return after e-filing it. I assume your first return filed though Free 1040 was accepted. Did you have a balance due on that Federal return? Did you set up a payment for that and that is what you are wanting to change?

Thanks, to clarify: When I sent the original return through another site, I owed $1,600 approx. I used my credit union account to pay for it and the date of April 15, which was the due date at the time.

On the TurboTax form, I owed $400 approx. I used another checking account to pay for that and to get the $90 refund due from state of CA. So yes, I changed the form of payment. From the information I found on the IRS site, they will amend returns sent in before the change to not tax $10,200 of unemployment.

If I can't mail the corrected form and payment must be made by check for mailed returns, do I need to resubmit my state return after my federal return has been accepted. I did not sent the state return with another site, only through TurboTax yesterday.
