Did you file a Joint return last year! Or did you both file separate returns? If you filed Joint did you enter 0 for both spouses AGI?
Yes it was joint. I entered 0 but I don't see where to enter it separately. It only shows when receiving the error which is either for myself or for my spouse.
Entering 0 for both got it accepted. The first 8 times it failed I could only select one or the other. Somehow the last time Turbotax let me edit my wife and myself as 0 and it was accepted.
Wow, 8 times? Glad you kept trying.
The tax returns that I tried to efile this year rejected for the same 2 errors and I know the AGI is accurate, since it populated the automatically, and the PIN was newly created this year since it is the first time I'm efiling the returns. Last year, for 2019, I used TurboTax but I printed the returns and mailed them in. I'm not sure if this error is due to the fact that I'm efiling this return for the first time through TT but I need help to figure out what I need to do to get around these errors. Will a 0 in the AGI field fix this problem?
Yes try entering 0 for the AGI. It took them a long time to process mailed returns and your AGI didn't get entered into the IRS in time to lookup and verify you. If 0 doesn't work you will have to mail your return again this year.
Thanks, that worked !
