Retirement Income

I can't remember how I did this last year!

I am receiving a retirement income from California, but I now live in North Carolina, so I pay the STATE taxes when I file my taxes.

When I put in my 1099 R info, a screen pops up that says:

"Where is this distribution from?"

I checked "none of the above," which is army, railroad, etc., but there are 3 boxes that say:

North Carolina distribution amount (it prefills the amount of my 1099)

North Carolina withholding

Payers NC State ID No

I am guessing my income goes here to determine what I owe NC? Or should it be blank?

Thank you!

Yes, since you are a full-year resident of North Carolina, you would allocate all of the distribution to North Carolina.

It is forcing the entire amount into BOX 16. Is that correct? I read other suggestions that it should be blank. I had removed the CA code from BOX 15 as that was also a suggestion but it still puts the entire amount into the "distribution amount."
