Reporting Payment from International Client

Hello,

We have a large client based in Mexcio. We have received Wire transfer from them last year and I was told they will not be sending  a 1099 - NEC.

Do I report this income as a 1099-NEC or is there somewhere else I should be reporting this?

I would choose General income as the category, but you could just as easily use Other income.

The descriptions are not firm guidelines, just suggestions of what your other income might be. These descriptions do not appear on the tax return, they are only on the supporting worksheets.

I am assuming this is regular business income, you just won't be getting a 1099-NEC.

You report the income you received in cash, checks or bank transfers or without a 1099-NEC as self-employed income under Other self-employed income.

  • In business income, just under Type of Income, click on Add Income for this work
  • On the next page, click on the radio button next to Other Self-employed Income
  • Click Continue to enter your income received in cash, checks or bank transfers.

Thank you for the quick response!

I'm a little confused as to how to get to where you are referring. Should I click "other Income" below?
