Hi all. I converted my rental to personal use. I knew not to delete the rental as in case we sell the home in the future, we wanted TT to maintain the history. Well after going through interview that we converted it, TT deleted it, not us. I did go to prior year returns to ensure I had history of depreciation.
Is there a way to get the history back as I may sell the residence within 5 years.
Thanks.

The history for your rental house is saved but only in your prior year returns. You'll need to use that history in order to keep it for when you sell it.
Downloading the return required that it be considered completed. So the system gave you the New York return as your free one.
@RobertB4444 Thank you. I followed a TT instruction to do it so as not to lose the data that specified not to delete it but, to answer the questions so that in the future, upon sale, the history would still exist. Complications exist especially as NJ has different depreciation so losing history is definitely an issue.
How can I get me free state since TT erred having NY be my free when I already had that downloaded?
Another issue, my account is not allowing me external links so it is suffocating my ability to respond to questions, how can I get that fixed?
Thank you
