Remove pay with refund

I see it says"Once your e-filed return is in pending or accepted status, it's too late to remove Pay With My Refund. But if your return is rejected, you have another opportunity to remove Pay with My Refund."

How do I do the last sentence? My refund was rejected and I want to remove Pay with refund since I didnt get it. Instead turbo tax look payment from an account I wasn't using and didnt have funds in and now I over drafted. I want to refund at least the pay with refund cost, and would rather use a different payment method even though they already charged me.

The "pay out of refund" option can be removed after one efiles a return IF in the next 24-48 hours or so after efiling, the efile is rejected and doesn't even begin processing.   In such an efile rejection, the return is considered to have never been filed with the IRS.  So that is why a change in payment method can be made when the initial efiling is rejected for processing.     After an efile rejection, TurboTax does not automatically debit one's account.   So it makes me think the following is what may have happened to you:

On the other hand, a denial or reduction in your Federal refund by the IRS after processing is not the same as the early-on efile rejection.   It's not clear how you are using the phrases "my refund was rejected"  and "since I didn't get it."  Does that mean the IRS processed your return and decided you were not due a tax refund or lowered it?

It's not clear what happened to you.   When you initially efiled,  within 24-48 hours or so did the IRS accept your return to start processing it, but after several weeks or IRS processing did TurboTax go ahead and debit your account because of either a delay at the IRS or because of a denial by the IRS of your refund?    In either of those situations TurboTax would go ahead and debit your account to get its fees.   Is that what happened?

In any case, since we may or may not be understanding your situation here, and since nothing account-specific can be handled in this public forum anyway, you can phone TurboTax Support on Tuesday to discuss any billing issues.  (This is a holiday weekend.)
