Last year (2020 return) was e-filed and I thought everything was OK. When I filed this year (2021) I found out that last years did not transmit and was unable to e-file this year. I called IRS and was put on hold for more than 1 hour and ultimately they hung up on me. That being the case, I copied last year's return (2020) and mailed it to the IRS along with a note explaining what happened. I did the same for the State Return (Ohio). Those returns were mailed 4/7/2022 and today I went back into Turbotax to e-file for this year. I was expecting a small refund for both State and Federal and didn't pay attention if they came in or not.(my big mistake). I am also expecting a small refund for this year so, in your opinion, what can I expect. I pledge to keep close tabs to my bank account this year and look for the refund. I plan on using Turbotax again next year and like the product.
Thank You,
Jim Tomlinson

Since your 2020 return has not yet been processed then when it asks for your 2020 AGI in order to e-file 2021, use zero. The IRS will not have a 2020 AGI in the system for you.
After you e-file---watch your emails.
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?
