Rejection

My efile is being rejected because one of my dependents ss# is possibly being used by someone else.  They were suppose to take turbo tax fees out of my refund but now i have to do it by mail.  If I dont print it from turbo tax and I go a different route do i still have to pay turbo tax? To print it it says I have to enter a cc.

If you file by mail, you will need to pay your TurboTax fees before you can print; you will not be able to have the fees deducted from your refund.   If someone else has used a dependent's SSN on their return, you cannot e-file.   Your remedy is to file by mail and let the IRS sort out the duplicate use of the SSN.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
