We cannot see the email you received that told you why the return was rejected, or that gave you a rejection code. However, most rejections are for AGI. Since e-filing is now permanently closed for past year returns, the only way you can file now is by mail. AGI does not matter when you file by mail. Print, sign and date your return in ink, and mail it.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
No one on this forum has access to your account so we have no idea why your tax return was rejected.
You would have received an email from TurboTax when the IRS or your State rejected the e-filed tax return. The email will have the rejection code and rejection message. What does it indicate?
A prior year tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed using TurboTax.
you can no longer e-file 2023 or earlier years and it's too early to e-file 2024.
