My return was just rejected for not having a PIN. I went the the IRS website and got my PIN. I then went back to my return and refiled with the PIN. It is still rejected stating that the PIN is invalid. I know I entered it correctly (tried several times). I have tried calling different IRS numbers but none of the menu options fit my issue and I cannot get a live person on line. Any suggestions?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
You will need to use your 2018 AGI,
To view your prior year AGI (you must use the same account used last year - username and password)
OR
You can obtain a copy of last year's tax transcript online using IRS link: https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
Thank you for the response. I found my AGI but I do not see anywhere I can apply it.
Here is how to correct your AGI and submit your tax return:
The Pin i used for my wife and myself was rejected and then i corrected mine with the AGI. But i keep getting rejected due to my wife's pin number being invalid. Turbotax doesn't give me any options to fix this error. What am i doing wrong. How can i use our AGI for my wife?
Thanks
Adam
Here is some information about returns rejected because of AGI or PIN;
Same problem. All the replies have to do with the AGI. that doesn;t help.
The IRS has eliminated the use of a PIN to e-file your 2019 tax return. To verify your identity for e-filing will use last year's adjusted gross income (AGI) as your PIN.
No help. I use a AGI from last years printed form. Explain.

If your tax return continues to be rejected with the 2018 AGI then enter a 0 (zero) for the AGI and e-file again.
If this is also rejected then you will have to print and mail the tax return.
See this TurboTax support FAQ for printing a tax return for mailing - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/printing/help/how-do-i-print-and-mail-my-return-in-turbotax-online...
