Rejected Maine Return. If my return is rejected and I have to fix it manually, am I amending a return or just submitting a new return.

Is the rejected return consider submitted so needs amending or is it not submitted as it was rejected?

Check the email of why it says rejected, and yes just fix then save inside turbo tax, print pdf to computer oir in hand, make sure your changes are done resubmit.

A rejected return is considered to be never filed, so it’s an original return, not an amended return. You can only file an amended return if Maine accepted your original return.

In most cases, you can e-file a rejected return. Otherwise, you’ll have to print and mail it by April 18 or file an extension.
