-Hello,
I received a rejection from Federal income tax filing with error code R0000-503-02.
Name or SS number incorrect with IRS records for second filer. The second filer is my wife, who currently lives in Thailand and we are in the process of Immigration using the IR-1 VISA. When I filled out my return, the instructions say to use SS# [social security number removed] since she does not have a SS# yet. Her name is Paemarin Kurosu and we got married on Dec 13,2019 in Bangkok, Thailand. How can if correct this?

If you are filing your tax return as Married Filing Jointly and your spouse does not have a SSN and you are applying for an ITIN with your tax return using Form W-7, then you cannot e-file your tax return. It can only be printed and mailed. Erase the SSN that you entered when it is printed and leave the box empty (blank) for her SSN.
If you are filing your tax return as Married Filing Jointly you must apply for an ITIN with the tax return and you would need to be providing a statement with your tax return that you want your Nonresident Alien Spouse Treated as a Resident. See IRS Publication 54 Tax Guide for U.S. Citizens and Resident Aliens Abroad pages 6 and 7 - https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p54.pdf
Go to this IRS website for ITIN information - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/international-taxpayers/general-itin-information
See this TurboTax support FAQ for the procedure to print and mail a tax return using the online editions - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1944348-how-do-i-print-and-mail-my-return-in-turbotax-online
I need to file the W-7 form and 2848 Power of attorney since my wife is a non resident alien spouse. Do I need to file for an extension? How do I do that?
I am filling out the 2848 form so I can sign for my non resident alien wife since she is in Thailand and cannot sign the W-7 form.
How can I get a professional CPA to help me with my taxes?
Yes, it's best to file an extension. Here are the steps.
After the tax deadline, you can contact a tax expert that can help you with your taxes. Here is how.
