I'm using Turbotax cd. How do I get to choose how I want to get my refund? It skipped that step altogether.

Refund method selection is one of the last steps the program will take before being ready to file. To review it, click the File tab. Then, click File a return. Continue through about three screens if you're filing by mail (or possibly more screens if you're e-filing), then you will be asked "How do you want your [$] refund?"
