Refund changed from $1000 to zero, with one added $100 w-2; why?

Does an amended return always show $0 refund when being processed? I had $1000 coming until I added another $100 income on another W-2, then it went to zero. Why?

The amended return shows the difference between that the refund or taxes due would be with the original return and the return had it been filed with the changes in the amended return. If there was no change in the refund or taxes due after entering the additional W-2, the amended return refund monitor would show $0.

The amended return assumes you have already received the refund on the original return. If fact, you are urged not to prepare, print and mail your amended return until you receive your refund in case the refund is not exactly the same as shown on your original return.
