As intelligent as Turbo Tax actually is and here I mean the administration. Why do they freeze the FREE file?
I just sent my Fed paperwork for FREE and now I cannot send my State FREE. This sucks because they are scammers and that is sad. They forget we paid $49 plus tax to get the darn Turbo Tax activated. And they still want more. Never again. Never again. We can just go to free TAX ASSISTANCE.
How sad.
Yes, you would think they would absorb that small amount. Turbo Tax sucks this year. Vultures.

I'm going to break that down into segments and ask for more info because I don't understand it without any details.
"Why do they freeze the FREE file?"
Please explain what that means and what all you did and were charged for. Please explain first what product you used to prepare your Federal return. Did you use desktop TurboTax (CD/download) or Online TurboTax (website version)? And what edition?
"I cannot send my state FREE."
What does that refer to? If you used desktop software, are you referring to the 24.99 state efile fee in the desktop product? Or are you referring to a state return preparation fee of 44.99 in an online product?
TurboTax has 2 Online products that have free state returns--regular Free Edition and the TurboTax Free File Program. In the other online products (Deluxe and higher) there is a state preparation fee.
"we paid $49 plus tax to get the darn Turbo Tax activated."
What does that refer to? And what do you mean by "activated?"
Did you purchase the desktop Basic product at 49.99? That's the only product I can think of with a $49.99 fee, but that's to purchase the software. There's not an activation fee for a routine product purchase through the website or retail channels. Or did you receive a promo CD in the mail that required activation to purchase and use a product on the CD?
