Why if I e-file, do I have to mail my Illinois in?? And what is W2G?

This was after I had to amend both returns.  Also, I can not get to find/see my returns on Turbo, since I need to copy Illinois!

Illinois only accepts mailed amended returns. There is no way to e-file the amended Illinois return. TurboTax will have all the instructions needed in the PDF about how to mail in the state return.

To see the completed returns in TurboTax Online, you will need to download the PDF.

To get your 2020 Form 1040 download, follow these steps:

• From the left menu, select Tax Home.
• Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents and Show.
• Navigate to the option to download the PDF of your return.
  • The forms are named in the top left and lower right hand corners of each page.

IL has a website, MyTax.Illinois.Gov, where you can efile an amended return. You just can't do it directly from TurboTax, and you may have to re-enter info from the 1040X created by TurboTax.  Illinois gives you 3 years to file an amended return.
