Where to Enter the Excess HSA Contribution and the Earning That Have Been Withdrawn

I had an excess HSA contribution in 2021. I have withdrawn the excess contribution and the related earning. However in Turbo Tax, only the excess HSA contribution shows up as "Other Income". How can I include the earning in the tax form?

Thank you

If you have already withdrawn your excess HSA contribution, then you do not report it as Other income.

You should only manually add the related earnings as Other income.

In TurboTax, open your return and follow these steps:

  1. Click on Federal in the left-hand column, then on Wages and Income on top of the screen
  2. Scroll down to locate the Less Common Income section
  3. Click Show more and click Start next to Miscellaneous Income at the bottom
  4. On the next page, click Start next to Other Reportable Income.
