I have H and R block. It does not have the form yet as of 3/23/2022. Disappointing.
Thanks for sharing. Did you have to input your numbers in Form 8915-F? Or did TurboTax did it automatically based on your 2020 Tax Return?
Jrls57-
You have the form already?
Suck’s your refund went down! Did you do a “fake” 1099r with no taxes to get an idea or not? Just curious because that is what I did and people said it should work. I would hate to see mine change. Thanks for any input!
@Max96815 You have to input 4 sets of numbers. You find your 8915E from last year and then you have to manually put them in. Does not carry over. Would have been nice but also not super difficult. The only problem I ran into was at the end before I filled it came back and said I had to give the distribution a name. I just put covid cares act and it let me file.
@Jenandkyle2020 Yeah. Logged on and it let me fill it out. Pretty simple as long as you have your old 2020 return handy to look at the numbers. I did do the fake one to see. For me, it was off by about a grand. I liked the fake way better. haha. But I still didnt have to pay so I'll count that as a win.
I was just able to complete mine as well. You just need the 8915E numbers from your tax return last year. I've been following the saga of this thread and waiting for these couple of pages to be completed for the last couple of months to file. Really hard to believe it took this long but in any case, glad its finally here.
Because not everyone is repaying and it pertains to retirement distributions
How do you initiate it for repayment?
@Anonymous It asks you if you made any repayment after you put in the 8915-e information.
Put my info in and my return went from $4500 to $185....OOF...I guess I planned well lol
Mine still says I need to revisit this area. Is anyone else still receiving that message? Where did you put those numbers
mine still says i need to revisit.. im on the desktop version.. grr
It was the online version I was able to move past the 'revisit this area' and file this evening. Hopefully the desktop version is as well tomorrow.
I had to input numbers on my own. But odd after I did my amount did not change. Now I have filed and in my saved return, no 8915 form from 2021.
Do you see your 8915F in your files return for 2021?
I filled in the info which of course increased my federal tax. But why do I have to pay the State taxes for the 2021 portion? I checked my 2020 state return and the entire distribution was already taxed.
