Did you not read the prior post that said 2/25?? I did.
Updates are normally released on the same day unless they find a bug that needs fixing.
for those that say it is now available- did you actually have to fill the form in? I went in to edit my 1099, and it now asked if i pulled the 401K money due to covid and I said yes and it gave me $1000 more after that. Does that mean the 8915 form has been applied?
Hi,
I was wondering if any of you know if the form 8915-E will be available in the desktop version of Turbotax deluxe? I also received some 1099-C for forgiven debt and the form 982 is not available in the online version.
thanks,
8915-E is supposed to be available tomorrow. Form 982 has been available for a long time.
It is not working correctly. I repaid my distribution and it is still charging me the same tax. I then deleted 1099R re-entered as if I had no repaid, selected pay taxes over 3 years and it charged the same. The only way it was working correctly is if I said I rolled the money over, which is not true. Turbotax is calculating the incorrect tax payment and this is dangerous for anyone who is filing through them. May need to move to another provider if they don't have it corrected today.
I am using Turbotax Premier with Win10. My wife lost some self-employment income because of COVID-19. Either one of us qualifies to distribute retirement income over three years. Turbotax asks my wife about COVID withdrawals, but not me. If I open form 8915, it fills in her name and won't let me change it. Please fix this.
It’s working for Turbo Tax Desktop home and Business ! It’s a beautiful thing!!!
I had to go in and answer additional questions to get it to worn correctly. We plan on paying it all back so we had to make adjustments for all of those!
thankful!!!
The state worksheet issue produced by form 8915-E is still not fixed:
"Check This Entry
Pension/Annuities/IRA Worksheet: Txble Pens/IRA(Reg Dist) We're still working on updates related to Retirement Distributions that qualify for disaster or covid relief. You can keep working on your return and we'll remove this message when it's ready."
Still cannot e-file and TurboTax is still pedaling random dates which never come to fruition.
I’m getting the same response when I reach my state taxes. It lets me file the entire 8915-E form for federal but when it gets to state it shows the same message you mentioned
@ajd878787 Yeah still having that issue with the Michigan state tax when I go to file. Can I file my federal now and do my State later once this issue is fixed or should I just wait?
I re-entered my 1099r and it brought me through the COVID questions. It made the proper adjustment to my taxable amount (spreading over 3 years). It did not take me to a 8915 form but stated when I file, the form would be completed. I think it worked!
@PA1989 Did you run into any messages when trying to file your state. All of us can get through inputting all the 1099-R info and answering Covid questions but when it gets to filing the state it prevents any of us from finalizing it
You can e-file your federal return now and then e-file your MIchigaN state return later, when the federal return has been accepted. Please see this TurboTax Help article for details: How do I e-file my state after I already filed my federal?
What state return are you preparing?
@Irene2805 it won’t let me even file my federal. It completed the entire review of my federal but when it moves onto my state, it pops up that message. My state is Hawaii.
