At this point it's not a TurboTax issue.
The forms have been ready for weeks; its still a TT issue though TT not quite saying that; still blaming state form availability when its really the incorporation of the forms by TT.
There was an update today Friday, 02/25 but STILL cannot file because of form 8582! still not available, come on Turbo Tax fix this!
Form 8582 still not available as stated by Turbo Tax!
See response by TT expert earlier in this thread; March 3 the resolution date; try filing March 4. If TT would post this upfront on their site or have a known issues doc posted people wouldn’t have to keep asking this question. This is basic IT customer support TT!
Not only that they keep changing the availability date! March 3rd we will see. Turbo tax gives you the option to be notified when it is ready and the minute you select that option, you get an email it's ready! come on Turbo Tax get your act together and stop wasting our time thinking it's available now!
Our team is working to resolve the error message for Form 8582 Passive Activity Loss Limitations during Review of state returns and now expects to have this updated by March 3rd. Please try your return in Review on or after March 4th.
If the federal forms are all finalized and it is ready to e-file, you can choose to file just the federal return at this time, then come back when your state forms are ready and e-file that return.
Note, if you don't e-file them together, you do have to wait until the federal is accepted before you can e-file the state. Sometimes this takes a day or even two. Here is a TurboTax Help article with directions for when you return to file your state return.
File State after the Federal is Filed
This list of state form availability will be updated. Please select the type of TurboTax you are using and your state, to see when forms are expected. State Tax Forms Availability Dates
This same problem happens to me, w hen trying to finish MAssachusetts form.
Is there a plan to fix this by Intuit/ TurboTax?
When I called last week they told me it would be fixed by 2/24, but with the update, the program is saying March 4. I've used TT for many years and this is the 1st problem I've ever had with the. Always been impressed with the program. I just don't get why they are not proactively letting customer's know what's going on.
I hope March 4 is a happy day in Maryland!!
Me too. So ANNOYING! I have waited over a month. The Help Desk is close to useless. They should have a fix for this problem by now. I do not sense they care. They have our money for the software and they don't care that our refund is being held up because we can't file. It is not enough to have them send an email every few days saying "Thank you for your patience". Ugh.
unsatisfactory response. This does NOT solve our problem. Please get the 'fix' completed!
At least you got that much, I can’t get Jack from them
The fact this error is preventing me from filing my taxes earlier and having to file with the crowd is super annoying. I loved Turbo Tax all the way until this.....it's 2022 and we can't get a form of all things together? -__- I'm not impressed a month into tax season....this is the latest I've ever filed my taxes. "Turbo"tax needs to reconsider their name with issues like this.
I am also a MA resident who has e-filed in previous years and Form 8582 was included. I got an email from TT yesterday that it was available but when I logged on again to finish my state taxes, it says it won't be available until 3/2/2022. Why isn't it supported this year when it was in previous years?
