Why is it taking so long to correct this problem if you have been working on it for 2 weeks already? Today is 2/17/2022. The problem is preventing me from filing my federal return and returns to 2 different states which are Maryland and Montana.
TurboTax needs to come clean on what the situation is and what the timeline for resolution and post it upfront on the website. The statement that the form is not available from either the IRS or Maryland appears to not be true based on comments where people have gone elsewhere to file. I was on the phone over an hour with support yesterday and they also had no idea about the issue (I recommended they read this forum). By the comments, it has been over 2 weeks - maybe over a month with no resolution. I have been a TT customer since around 1998 or so with passive losses carryover for at least 5 years and have never had this issue. My return needs this form so I can't delete it. I would like to get my refund which has been held up for over 2 weeks now. If I do not get some answers with a timeline soon, I am definitely looking elsewhere for tax software.
So….I gave up and am requesting a refund. A pain in the butt yes, but I started with TaxAct and everything went through immediately. I’m now awaiting my refund.
This was after I spent 53 on hold and then when answered all I could here were birds chirping. How unfortunate that the customer service is so poor. I suggest jumping ship sooner rather than later.
I am trying to file a MA state return and I'm getting the notice I can't e-file because Form 8582 is not ready. From what I have been reading, the problem pertains to Maryland State return. Does anyone have this issue in Massachusetts?
It’s not only Maryland. Mass habit as well.
Virginia has been a problem too. Someone in Indiana, Maryland and Massachusetts have posted problems.
agrrrrrr. glad to know its not just me. but it's very annoying.
This site just now says (for Virginia) Form 8582 is now "available". An hour ago it said "available Feb. 17".
Click on link and change the "va" abbreviation to abbreviation for your state to check on supposed availability.
I reopened my CD version TT to download software updates but it showed "up to date". Hopefully, tomorrow things will work.
MD Resident here and having the same issue. Been at a standstill for the last 2 weeks. If this issue is not resolved soon - I too will be moving everything over to TaxAct.
TurboTax/Intuit needs to get their ish together! I have been using this software for decades and never had this isue. I get that glitches happen. It is simply unacceptable to go several weeks with ZERO communication and no resolution in sight!
Any update! It's been weeks! Or should I just use TaxAct instead to file this year???
I tried to use this URL to sign up for notifications and got a "page not found" error! This is absolutely absurd!
Virginia is too. Is this a TurboTax problem or a Government problem?
I tried to switch over to another tax software but as I had already filed my federal at the discretion of a turbo tax employee, I cannot file state separately and must use the same software for both. I am absolutely furious. I think every single one of us should report TT to the BBB as well as go through our financial institutions for refunds as TT will not give them to us. I want to try to find out what more can be done, but as it is only February they still technically have time to fix this regardless of us all needing our tax money. The customer support is nice as can be but they are not kept in the loop on this. For reference I am in MD.
MA is having the same problem as anybody else. I cannot fil my state but my federal went thru with the same form??? Last year using TurboTax.
I am stopped from filing because desktop TT says that Virginia's form 8582 is not ready. The schedule on the Intuit website says it will be ready by 2/17/22.
