When will 8519-e be available?

At this point in time the Form 8915-E (Qualified 2020 Disaster Retirement Plan Distributions and Repayments (Use for Coronavirus-Related Distributions)) is not finalized.

We currently do not have an estimated date when the form is ready.

Please sign-up here and we will email you once the form is live.

When will 8519-e be available?

Any updates on when 8519-e will be available so I can finish and submit my taxes? It is now March 1 and there have not been any updates. Seems unfair that we miss out on filing cost savings opportunities because of forms being unavailable even though we were ready to file.

The Form 8915-E has been available since 02/25/2021 in the TurboTax online editions.

The Form 8915-E has been available since 02/26/2021 in the TurboTax desktop CD/Download edition as a software update.

The Form 1099-R has to be entered or edited and the Covid-19 questions answered before the Form 8915-E will be generated by the TurboTax software.

When will 8519-e be available?

I was reading on NBC this morning, that the IRS will prompt a review of people with this form, (8915-E) to make sure covid related, I'm not saying bad thing, but t was a pandemic, why is it a big deal if people use their own money to survive. Just let us pay the taxes and move on so I am hoping this is not true!

When will 8519-e be available?

Question on form 8519-E pertaining to Covid Distribution:

After completing form 8519-E, Sect Qualified 2020 Distributions from Retirement Plans (Other than IRAs), and transferring amount on line 11 to line 5b on Form 1040 (amount subject to tax), how does a filer transfer info from 1099R Box 7?

1099R Box 7 reflects a '1' for 'regular' distribution instead of '2' for 'exception' distribution.

Do filers using TurboTax enter 2 for the box 7 info and attach form 8519E with filing? Hope this makes sense.

If you want the tax return completed correctly for the Form 1099-R Covid-19 related withdrawal you should be using the interview in TurboTax and not trying enter directly on the forms.

The Form 1099-R is entered as received, you do not change it.  If the form is in error then you have to get a corrected form from the plan administrator.

To enter, edit or delete a form 1099-R -

  • Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
  • Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
  • Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
  • Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
  • On IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R), click the start or update button

Or enter 1099-r in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to 1099-R

When will 8519-e be available?

The post that NBC said you must prove the Corona virus was an issue for you because my information from my well-known retirement center said our RMD's could be returned by the due date of August 31, 2020 with no penalty.  It made no mention of a requirement to have the disease or the effects of it.

It is taking Turbo Tax so long to load the form that I'm wondering why we can't make the entries on irs.gov then upload it to Turbo Tax ourselves.  I guess that get's into the technical aspect, so no dice.

At worst, we might be able to  file without the 8519-d and 8519-e forms, the latter form being the most important, then personally amend out returns on a 1040-X.

Looks like I'm being hit for a charge of $60 (expected) and another two charges for $50, so a total of $160 when I've been telling them what I need and doing the research.  Not happy.

I've used Turbo Tax for years without issues, but the chance of me doing it again at this outrageous price is not happening.

When will 8519-e be available?

Form 8915-F is used to report a disaster-related retirement distribution, and any repayments of those funds. It also allows you to spread the taxable portion of the distribution over three years, if needed and report prior year distribution amounts which are to be taxed in 2021.

Form 8915-F replaces Form 8915-E  and will become available on 03/31/2022. Federal Individual Form Availability
