when i had new windows installed the total price was $22000. can i claim this price for the energy efficient refund?

There is only a $600 energy improvement credit for windows

To enter Home Energy Credits -

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Deductions and Credit
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Under Your Home
On Home Energy Credits, click the start or update button

Or enter energy improvements in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to energy improvements

that $22K is included in your basis when you sell if it's your residence. If it's a rental the cost gets added and is depreciated
