Pending is not bad, it is going through process checks, and making sure it is acceptable to the IRS based on information they have versus what you may have reported. Give it some time.
Pending simply means that your e-filed return is on its way and that the government hasn't accepted or rejected it yet.
If you e-filed your return before January 24, it'll stay in Pending status until the IRS starts processing the backlog of returns.
After that, e-filed returns generally sit in Pending status for 24–48 hours before coming back as either Accepted or Rejected. Sometimes state returns stay in Pending for several days or even longer.
Keep calm and check back
Until your state or the IRS processes your return, you may hear there's "no record found." That means the return is still being processed. Just check back in a few days.

The IRS only began to accept federal returns on Monday January 23.
Millions of e-files have been pending on servers.
A state return cannot be accepted until the IRS accepts your federal. It often takes a couple of days for the state to be accepted after the IRS accepts your federal return. Keep watching your emails.
Did you e-file? Did you click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
