Interesting as I realized after posting this that the "download" of my MUCH simpler stock sale from Fidelity correctly imported sale price, but put in "$1" for cost basis...needless to say, the little "tax owed" thingee up top went crazy...
Pretty sure as I vented on a follow up call someone messed with the "API" (the code Turbo uses to request info.)...cannot be a coincidence that I had 2 separate providers have their data messed up, and as Wells told me "hey, we have many, many users including QuickBooks, and if WE screwed up something on our end, we would know...
AND during my follow up call, the agent confessed "you are not the first person"...as opposed to what I heard a week earlier when I called in
If your forms are not downloading correctly you will need to manually enter them into TurboTax.
To get started in TurboTax you simply open TurboTax with your user name and password.
Fill out each of these sections in TurboTax:
TurboTax is self explanatory through these sections. If you get stuck, reach out on this Board, someone will be happy to help you.
If the forms don’t download correctly, there is no reason to use TurboTax. Entering them all manually without making mistakes is impossible. I’m hoping they will be able to fix this very serious bug on the next week or two.
Agree...and wasted literally hours of time going back and forth between Wells and Turbo...after weeks one last call to check, and Turbo customer service said she had nothing in her DB of issues. I expressed dismay since as I told her, I can’t be the only one, and with millions of Turbo customers and the intersection with Wells would mean many thousands were having the a
same issue. To advise “well just enter by hand” when someone has paid a LOT of money is crazy...especially for Premium level, where complexity can be quite high.
You're not the only one...... Is this still an issue of 3/5/2020? My import was "successful" as in no error. But turbo tax just created a bunch of empty blank place holders with no import information.
Yes same. I gave up and entered everything manually.
yeah, me too -- and I paid for premier....

So this is beginning to look like a serious TurboTax bug.
This is a Turbotax Bug that remains. Hours on the phone with Turbotax support failed to reslove the issue. I ended up being forced to manually enter data into the forms since download repeatedly fails. I'm not the only one with this issue
What error do you get when you try to download from Wells Fargo? I get "internal network error". I have talked to both Turbo Tax and Wells Fargo today 3/8/2020. The suggestions I got were to (1) update Windows 10 and (2) turn off any firewalls except Windows 10. I did both of these and neither helped.
I was able to download my data in all previous years and I agree that it is a real pain to manually type in the data. Has anyone had any progress or have any suggestions that might help?
Here's an article with instructions on how to manually enter the form. TurboTax is not allowing me to import Wells Fargo ...

I didn't purchase Premier just to hear someone say that I need to enter data manually. TT has performed well for me in the past. I am seriously considering 'the other guys' at this point.
I've been in the technical support industry long enough to know this type of situation does NOT carry on for this long without a fix - unless they truly think the users they cater to are only filing without bank data. Seriously? C'mon, TT... Do I have to put my Tech Support hat on and go back to work?
It would be best for you to contact customer support if you do not wish to input the data manually.
