Using another's desktop version

Can someone use another person's desktop version of TurboTax, specifically an ex's (former partner's) version? If so, which edition(s) is/are appropriate?

Using another's desktop version

The desktop version on the PC is somewhat tied to your Online account, so that what you propose may require (I am not sure) the other person to have to log on to your Online account too, which you may not want.

Generally, the desktop version is set up to be able to do multiple returns by one person on one PC. You would have to experiment with other uses.

Probably.

The desktop version of TurboTax can do as many tax returns as you have space on your hard drive; however, you can e-file only five returns using Desktop.

I cannot tell you which versions are appropriate since we do not know anything about either partner's tax situation.

It makes sense that one would need more information to recommend which version is best, depending on each of our situations.

I guess I should have asked if it is possible to use another person's desktop version on a different computer by using the code? So if someone purchased the desktop version and only filed one return, could their ex-partner use the same version on a different computer?
