Unemployment Compensation and RDP

I have windows desktop TurboxTax Home & Business. I live in a community property state (WA) and have a Registered Domestic Partnership.  I entered the 1099-G information into TurboxTax, I adjusted the amount on form 8958 to split 50/50 between the partners. I think I understand that I then need to manually change the 1040 form for the 50% amount on my return and on my partner's...but I am unable to manually change the amount on the 1040.  I tried right clicking on the amount on Schedule 1 to "override", but the override option is grayed out and I cannot change Schedule 1 or the 1040.  HELP!

It sounds like you are going into the FORMS mode. You have to right click and data source back to where the entry comes from. In your case, it would be the forms W2, 1099-G, etc.

I was trying to change the amount on the 1040 and Schedule 1, but sounds like I would just manually calculate 50% of my 1099-G and W-2 and enter the 50% amounts into those forms, not the 1040 or Schedule 1.  I had thought that would cause problems with the IRS, but I guess they don't really see what I enter into those forms in TurboTax.  Thank you.  It's making more sense now.
