turbotax error R0000-058-01 xml binary attachment
Has this error been fixed yet? My paper file return cannot be found by the IRS thought I sent it certified mail return receipt as per the instructions on turbotax as they have this error and couldn't fix it before the tax deadline. I have to resubmit my filing and am still getting this error. Why won't turbotax fix this as there are business people who use turbotax to do their filings.

If you have mailed in your tax return, you should not try to electronically file it as this could create more issues when the IRS does process the return. Paper filed returns do take longer to process so the delay is expected. As far as the error code, the attachment is not currently supported and therefore mailing your return was the only way to file your tax return. Hold on to your certified mail receipt as proof that your return was mailed and received by the IRS.
There are steps underway to remedy this in the future but at this time, e-filing when this attachment is required is not supported within TurboTax.
Please see this link from the IRS for businesses for additional information you can use to contact them. If the IRS has written to you and let you know they do not have your tax return, follow the instructions on the letter. Many times there will be a phone number you can use to contact them and find out the best way to ensure your business return is received by them and processed.
I had the same problem R0000-058-01 and have posted regarding this. I do see that as of your posting on 6/24/24, the problem in the TurboTax 2023 program has not been solved and the program has not yet been corrected and updated.
My state return e-filing also was rejected as a result of the Federal e-file failure and required printing and mailing.
I do want to share with you and others affected by this that I did successfully process a billing correction with Intuit for the fee associated with the failed e-filing of my state return. I did not get a billing correction for the cost of the failed TurboTax Deluxe program itself from Intuit, but I have been successful in getting a billing correction from COSTCO.com where I had purchased the TurboTax program for downloading online. My request for reimbursement of other requested costs from Intuit are so far not successful.
I remain concerned and would like to hear from any affected community member that printed and mailed federal and/or any state forms who has received a definite unfavorable or favorable response from IRS or their state, and if so, what they included or corrected regarding forms 7206 and 8692.
