Why is TMP chip so important! there are 101 other ways of providing security. In-fact most of the cloud and internet infrastructure is doing quite well without TMP.
Linux by-the-way runs FINE on 15 year old laptops and very securely. FYI Turbotax DOES NOT needs that much computational power to run than a 20 year old machine. It is all a scam.

Actually it is different. The blue screen of death is now black screen of death, which also occurs much more frequently and will continue to do so for about next four years and when it stops showing up, Windows 11 will reach its end of life magically.

Are you sure that's the case? You might want to see if there's an upgrade tool from Dell for your laptop.

Why not just use an online version then? There is no desktop income tax prep software that runs on Linux.
don't the linux crowd just run VMs for stuff like Turbotax anyway and they can just set up a Win 11 one.

Yeah, but they don't want to PAY for that.
As a CFE there is no way that I am comfortable imputing and filing my or my family's tax returns online (not as secure and I believe that it has been hacked in the past). Also, online is single use whereas download allows 5 returns. And Microsoft does not the chip (not on approved list) in my computer so I can't upgrade to Win 11 without spending $$$ for a decent new computer.
I guess I will be leaving TurboTax after over 20 years as a loyal user.
Not free to upgrade to Win 11 if you have to but a new computer to do so!!!!!!!!!!!!!😤
My HP was built 3 yrs ago and exceeds all listed requirements but the CPU is not on the Windows 11 approved list so I'm block from upgrading.
Are you certain? You may have it but it may need to be enabled in your BIOS settings.

Thank you, sir, for your question. I am very sure.
I am a 30+ year user of TurboTax (and its predecessors). There is absolutely no reason that the new version could not run on windows 10. You have claimed that there's a security risk. That's total crap.
Microsoft is STILL UPDATING MY WINDOWS 10!!!!! I have had at LEAST 4 updates since it was "discontinued support" in October 2025.
I'm not sure what I will do. Updating my computer JUST to do my taxes? That's not going to happen.
I guess I will just have to move to some other company's product. After more than 30 years using your product for me and for my family members.
Really???

TaxAct and H&R Block support Windows 10.
If they don't get this mess fixed soon I will also be moving to H&R Block for tax software going forward.
