SIRS,
There is not one **bleep** thing that makes MS Win OS 11 any better than MS Win OS 10.
In my opinion, we as customers are worst off trying to use OS 11 as many of the features that were standard to the OS systems are now gone.
I for one WILL NOT BE CHANGING my computer system, and it is unrealistic of Intuit to expect your customers to be forced to spend money on something that is not needed.
CHANGE your policy.

Also 30+ year user of TurboTax but I just purchased a new HP laptop with Windows 11 for my wife. Will download to her laptop for the 2025 version.
A bit surprising to me that TurboTax can be this misguided.

Not sure what you mean by your comments below.
TT is saying that unless you have MS Win 11 OS their 2025 version will not work.
I for one are dead set against giving MS any more money for useless upgrades that do not provide noticeable improvements. I see nothing in MS Win 10 that was an enhancement over Win 8.1 and in looking at my wife's MS Win 11 system I see nothing there either that is an enhancement over Win 8.1 or Win 10.
Further, I am damned if I am going to spend more money with TT if they elect to put this restriction in place.
In one of the other comments, someone stated that the vast majority of the world still uses MS Win 10 and has not upgraded to Win 11.
Frankly, I will be exploring other OS systems that are compatible to the current applications that I use.
Corporately, Intuit and TT are cutting their own throats.
misguided, insane. to Intuit it's the bottom line that counts. it probably has projected that the revenue from those switching from desktop to online will offset the loss of desktop users. desktop 5 returns for 1 fee online $139 for 1 return based on 2024 pricing.
I am another TurboTax user for more than 15 years who will NOT be upgrading unnecessarily to Windows 11. I will not use an online version of TurboTax where I do not have control of my data. My Windows 10 install is stable with proper security in place. There is NO reason that TurboTax 2025 should not function with Windows 10 other than greed. Intuit/TurboTax, you are losing me and thousands of customers due to this stupid decision. Real bad business decision!!
Now that Microsoft has announced and agreed to support Windows 10 for a fee. Will TurboTax compile and also support TurboTax on Windows 10?
As another long time user (only 20 years though) I disagree with TT decision to not support the program for those using Win 10 and finding it perfectly satisfactory. As another commenter noted above, I too am unwilling to use the online version.
PLEASE RECONSIDER THIS DECISION & CONTINUE TO MAKE TT AVAILABLE FOR WIN 10 USERS.
Microsoft has announced their Extended Security Update program to provide security updates for Windows 10 until 10/13/2026. In light of this program, I think Intuit should reconsider their decision and provide TurboTax Desktop software for year 2025 for Windows 10 users.
I've been a TT desktop customer for many years (Turbo Tax Advantage). From Microsoft, I just got a year of extended security updates till October 2026 on my Windows 10 pc. My Windows 10 laptop is a high end computer and works without issue. I fell it's really lousy that TT is telling me under these circumstances that I have to upgrade to Windows 11. I do not want to use the online version. TT needs to change policy on this or will lose me as a long-time loyal customer.
No new information and missing the information which I supplied. But, thanks.
And yet, I am another 15+ year user of TT. I am not disagreeing with bobguerity but fully supporting what he says. It is beyond me to think that a company like Intuit/TT has chosen to just abandon those of us (thousands of us) that are still on win10 and do not want or can't spend the money to get to win11. My system with win10 works just fine. Intuit/TT has had plenty of time to prepare for this with a solution for win10 (for 2025 taxes) and a new program for win11. I will not use the online to file because that is keen to provide the grifters with all your personal data. But you, for sure, lost another customer (me) albeit I have not yet found an alternative, but I will. Whoever took this decision at Intuit/TT was only thinking about his/her yearly bonus or is not very smart. Really BAD decision Intuit/TT.
I agree that Intuit should support Windows 10 with the new 2025 version, especially since Microsoft is offering extended security patch support for another year for everyone who applies.
MANY people, including me, still use Windows 10 on robust systems that have their own protection from malware.
Intuit; PLEASE Change your policy and support Windows 10 for at least another year!
Been using TurboTax for many years. No more! I use Windows 11 at work and like Windows 10 MUCH better. Not upgrading my personal laptop to Windows 11 and I'm certainly not going to save all my info online!
